Communication activity
This metric shows the hours spent on communication, the amount, and an indicator of whether they were spent during work hours or outside of work hours. This can help detect communication overload (indicating process inefficiencies), and help detect "always-on" culture which can eventually lead to disturbing work-life balance and can potentially cause burnout.
App inputs to this metric:
GIT/VCS tools
Use cases:
-
It can be a good indication if engineers are doing overtime on weekends or off work hours
-
It can also indicate if enough maker time is available with the engineers to do the work.
