Hatica Goals lets you set goals based on pre made templates, monitor its progress, and take proactive decisions in real time, along with alerts on your communication apps.

Goals can be configured by both for team managers for teams and for ICs for themselves.

Managers can use Hatica Goals to recognize bottlenecks in their teams from the dashboards and metrics, and use Hatica Goals to drive data-driven progress by actively monitoring and taking measures to achieve goals.

Hatica Goals can also be configured by Individual Contributors (ICs) for themselves. This helps every member of the team set their own goals, monitor, and make data-driven progress.

Configuring Goals

It’s Simple. Just follow the below steps:

Step 1: Initial Setup

Hatica Goals lets you set goals based on pre made templates, monitor its progress, and take proactive decisions in real time, along with alerts on your communication apps. 

Prerequisite to adopt a Hatica Goal for your team is to configure the Slack channel and the time at which the report should be delivered.

Head over to your teams setting, choose a channel and a notification time. After you save the channel and time configuration, make sure you turn on the notification using the "Notifications Enabled" toggle.

Step 2: Adopting a Goal

Adopting a Goal for your team is as simple as heading over to https://app.hatica.io/goals/ (opens in a new tab) and clicking on the Adopt new goal button on the top right.

From there, pick the goal you want to adopt, fill in the threshold which upon breach, you will be notified.

Google Chat Space Webhook Setup

To get notified in google chat space for Goals follow the steps in the link (opens in a new tab) and generate wehook for your chat space.

Provide the generated webhook to Hatica for receiving notifications.

Who are Goals for?

  1. Users with Manager access can create goals for teams.
  2. Users with Individual Contributor (IC) access can create goals only for themselves and cannot see goals set by others.

What can be monitored/ configured?

  1. Repositories: Repositories from your Git provider can be monitored for the goal
  2. Teams: Configured teams according to your settings page can be setup with the goal
  3. Projects: Configured projects according to your settings page can be setup with the goal

Why Goals are Important?

  1. They help you quantify your success plan.
  2. They provide a data driven view of the gap between your desired target and your team’s progress.
  3. They assist the managers to drive team and individual motivation.
  4. They indicate opportunities to refine internal processes.
